When orienting the d-axis of the dq system along the rotor flux, the block estimates the value of the rotor flux linkage on the basis of the projection of the stator current on this axis.

The rotor flux is calculated using the following formulas:


where:
  • ψR — rotor flux linkage,
  • TR — rotor time constant,
  • Lm — the magnetizing inductance,
  • LσR — rotor leakage inductance,
  • RR — rotor resistance,
  • iSd — projection of the stator current vector on the d-axis,
  • p — differentiation operator.

The angle measured with respect to the positive axis of phase A is considered positive if it is measurer in the counterclockwise direction.
