The block is designed to simulate a simplified solenoid described by the equations:

where:
- F – force developed by the solenoid, N
- K – gain of the converter, V·s/m
- I – current, A
- U – voltage at the converter, V
- v – relative linear speed, m/s
The relative angular speed is calculated by the formula:

where vC and vR – linear speeds at ports "C" and "R", respectively, m/s.
The forces at the block ports are defined as:

where FC and FR – forces fed to ports "C" and "R", respectively, N.
The positive direction of current and voltage is taken as the direction from port "+" to port "-".
