The block is designed to simulate planetary gear mesh of the "Planet-Planet" type with a constant gear ratio and constant efficiency. The kinematic diagram of the gearbox is shown in the figure (Figure 1).

Planetary gear consists of:
  • External planet gear PE with the number of teeth ZPE
  • Internal planet gear PI with the number of teeth ZPI
  • Carrier C
The block is described by the following kinematic relation:

where:
  • ωPI – angular speed of the internal planet gear, rad/s
  • ωPE – angular speed of the external planet gear, rad/s
  • ωC – angular speed of the carrier, rad/s
Attention:
the angular speed of the planet gear is measured relative to the fixed coordinate system.

To meet the requirement of the kinematic ratio, the block solves the coupling equation.
